It is possible as a standard option to buy complete assembled Pump and Trap Combinations. These consist of the CCT trap connected to the appropriate size of Edwards EO diffusion pump (these pumps are completely stripped after receipt from Edwards and are cleaned to our UHV standards).
They are then re-built and assembled to the CCT trap (using an Indium wire seal). The whole unit is then fully leak checked as an assembly.

Pump and trap combinations are supplied with the following extra parts as standard: 1 off ZTCOS thermal cutout switch and a full charge of Santovac 5 diffusion pump oil (quantity depends on size of pump ordered. The thermal cut-out switch is intended to check for proper cooling water circulation in the diffusion pump cooling circuit. This switch must be connected into an appropriate system control circuit. The oil is not installed in the pump before shipping as poor handling of the trap would cause the oil to leak out of the pump causing contamination.
